Planai-Schladming: Austrian Summer Sports Holiday Destination

As you probably know it by now, Austria has a wide range of marvelous ski resorts, where you can enjoy an unforgettable winter holiday. One of them is the ski resort Planai, located in central Austria, in the Schladming area (in Styria), and not far way from Graz (you will need around two and a half hours to reach Planai from Graz).
Great ski resort indeed! I had the pleasure to experience it. You might be amazed though to hear that Planai is not only a ski resort during winter, but also a fabulous holiday destination during summer, when you can experience a broad number of summer sports as well: mountain biking, hiking, paragliding. Just find the time to visit Planai in summer and you will see what I mean. You will definitely not regret it. The scenery is also outstanding, as you can see it from the pictures depicted below. I hope you enjoy the virtual tour as much as I enjoyed the real tour! Yes Planai is definitely on my list for spending some unforgettable summer days.

There are a lot of hiking paths available in summer on the Planai mountains. Just find the time to check them out.
Paragliding in summer is a great activity to experience while on the Planai mountain.
Great summer day spent on the Planai mountain! Looking forward to return. Yes you do have to wear a jacket during summer up here, it gets a bit colder as in the city areas, but this is normal for a mountain resort I would say. Just be prepared 🙂 !
