Best Recipes: Healthy Whole-Grain Semolina Porridge

Today I will share with you another delicious recipe, that I enjoy for either breakfast or dinner, and that is the whole-grain semolina porridge recipe. This recipe is fast to prepare, and it delivers a lot of minerals and vitamins that you need to either begin or end your day in the best possible way.

INGREDIENTS (2 Portions)

  • 80 Grams Semolina Whole-Grain (or Vollkorn Griess in German)
  • 700 ml Milk
  • 2 Spoons Honey (or Agave Syrup, or Coconut Syrup)
  • Pinch of Salt
  • 1 Teaspoon Cinnamon
  • 1 Teaspoon Butter (or Coconut Oil)

PREPARATION

  1. Mix the milk with the salt, and the honey and bring it to a boil stirring gently. Use a medium heat when boiling the milk.
  2. Add the whole-grain semolina flour to the milk, stirring continually with an egg whisk to prevent lumps.
  3. Leave the porridge boil for around 5 minutes. If it is too consistent (i.e. too solid), then add some more milk.
  4. Add cinnamon and butter to the porridge and let it further boil for another 1-2 minutes.
  5. Leave the porridge rest for around 3-5 minutes before serving it.
  6. Note: For serving the porridge you can use either cacao, or cherries compote, or even marmalade, or you can just enjoy it in plain form. In either way this is a delicious recipe, that you can enjoy in the evenings for dinner or in the mornings for breakfast. I also recommend you to use the whole-grain semolina flour, and not the wheat semolina flour since it is tastier and it delivers enough minerals and vitamins as all the others whole-grains products.
Even in the plain form, this semolina porridge recipe is extremely delicious, you should definitely try it!
