Travel Guide: Piran, Slovenia

Dear Alice,

Today I will present you another wonderful travel guide I hope, and that is the travel guide to the medieval city harbor of Piran, in Slovenia. It is a beautiful city, that will definitely amaze you with both its unique and traditional facets.

Best Time To Visit.

I would say the best time to visit Piran, Slovenia is in late summer or early autumn. I would also opt for early spring for sure. This is my recommendation at least. Why? Well in my opinion, during these periods you get the chance to enjoy the city and its surroundings with everything that it has to offer, without being in danger of experiencing crowded tourists masses. In addition, the weather is still sunny and warm that you can enjoy swimming and sun bathing (except in spring maybe), but it is not extremely hot that you always want to look for a restaurant or local with air conditioning so as to cool yourself.

Cost and Expenses.

Piran, Slovenia is definitely a wonderful place, that will mesmerize you with its mysterious beauty. What I like about this place, is that you can definitely relax and recharge your batteries while enjoying your holidays, and plus the prices are acceptable, including food and accommodation. Also since Slovenia is part of the European Nation, you can use the Euro currency while in your holidays, which personally I find very practical when I travel. Concerning the food you will find everything from fish to meat or vegetarian dishes, and this to reasonable prices even in the more expensive restaurants. You may want to reserve a table in advance in the most popular restaurants, otherwise you will have to wait until a table will be free for you. Concerning the accommodation, I definitely recommend you to rent an apartment or to book a bed and breakfast apartment via booking.com. Just make sure to do this early enough before the starting of your holidays, the place can be quite crowded in the touristic seasons.

Best Things to Do in Piran.

1.Visit the Tartini Square: It is a beautiful place that will impress you with its architecture, where you can enjoy some delicious smoothies or natural juices, or coffee and tea.

2. Visit the St. George Church and Its Surroundings: You will be impressed by the medieval character of the building, plus you will get to enjoy some wonderful panoramas over the city and the sea.

3. Stroll through the Old Town: Here you will discover some peaceful surroundings, that will amaze you as well with their beauty.

4. Stroll the Medieval City Wall and Enjoy the Harbor View as Well. You can also find here some great restaurants to enjoy lunch or dinner as well.

5. Rent a Boat at the Sunset and Go for a Boat Trip (either in Piran or in Portoroz, Slovenia, which is not far away from Piran, you can reach the distance quite fast with the bus or with the car). You will get to enjoy some wonderful views, and you will also get to relax and to recharge your batteries.

I hope I convince you to add Piran, Slovenia to your travel bucket list, I assure you wont regret visiting this wonderful medieval city.

Sincerely yours,
Madalina
