Travel Guide: Munich Best Attractions

Dear Alice,

First of all, I am very sorry for the long pause. Unfortunately, this can happen in this period, when the weather or only the circumstances can cause some unexpected colds or flues.
I am very happy to be back again and today I would like to start a discussion series with you called “Places to Visit in 2016”. That is, in this series I will present you some of the best places to visit in 2016. That is the best places I recommend you for traveling this year; and these are of courses places that I visited in the nearby past and that I found special and that now occupy a special place in my heart :).

I have to tell you that for me traveling is one of my best friends! I pretty much love traveling, but mostly in holidays or in well-organized long weekends. I think traveling has a lot of benefits upon my life and this is why it become earlier enough one of my dearest friends: it gives me the opportunity to disconnect from my regular life; it increases my knowledge and it widens my perspective and last but not least it always relaxes me! So visiting new places is something that I pretty much love to do. Whereas all new visited places offer me that life experience and mentality variation one finds when traveling, there are some particular places that are special and that I highly recommend to be visited!

So my first place on my list for places to visit in 2016 is:…Munich! Ah Munich, a wonderful city, that I always love visiting! Why? Well, let’s see..

  • Munich is a city full of history, of mystery and of adventure. I am fascinated by this city, every time I am there I discover new facets to this old Bavarian capital fortress.
  • Each time I am there, Munich showed itself to me in yet another color and form, which for sure is not to be forgotten! Apart from visiting the city’s historic center with its legendary houses of worship, overwhelming architectural buildings and relaxing parks (where you could spent infinite hours with good books), you can definitely explore the artistic facet of Munich!
  • After living in a big Metropolis as Berlin where art and artists are most-welcomed, I find Munich a diverse and non-conformist “on-the-run” art citadel. Fascinated by art and everything that comes with it, I must tell you that you can spend good hours at Haus der Kunst, being pleasantly impressed by intrigued expositions of young and contemporary artists! The path to the Haus der Kunst could be paved in spring, summer or autumn with the unexpected but still thrilling surfing experience, shared and enjoyed on the Isar river by the Bavarian surfers. You have to image that the experience is perceived and lived as one of a kind in a city where no ocean or sea is expected to be seen at any point!
  • BMW Welt and Museum is a place of technology and innovation, where your mind will start wondering and it will be challenged till the extreme limits! It is definitely a place worth visiting. Plus, you could also visit the Olympia Park, it is located right next to the BMW Welt! Olympiahalle also worth visiting, especially for concerts, as I mostly got the change to do it. I saw already James Blunt and Maroon5 performances and they were unforgettable!
  • Neuschwanstein Castle, a place of legend, of mistery, not far away from Munich! You can also go hiking next to the castle, or even biking around the lake situated nearby the castle if the weather is fitted for this activity.
  • Last but not least, the hosts are always the most enjoyable part of my visits to Munich! And that is my good friends, that move a couple of years ago in Munich. Good food, best cocktails, valuable advice, wise life sharing experience and lots of fun! I am most grateful to have such friends I get to visit when going to Munich, and I am looking forward to our next encounter!

Sincerely yours,
madalina
