Best Places in Graz: “Der Steirer” Restaurant

Dear Alice,

Today I would like to further recommend you another beautiful place in Graz, where you can spend a lovely evening or afternoon with your family and/or friends, where you can enjoy some excellent traditional Austrian foods, and that is the “Der Steirer” restaurant in Graz.

Maybe one of the most traditional Austrian restaurants in Graz, “Der Steirer” Restaurant (in translation “The Styrian”) is by far one of my favorite restaurants in Graz: I like everything about it: the food, the ambiance, the service, the location and plus the prices are acceptable, and the food quality is definitely quite high, in my opinion.

So here are the main reasons why I would definitely recommend you to book a table at the “Der Steirer” Restaurant in Graz:

    1. You will enjoy a great location, great service, great interior design and nonetheless great food (and great wines): There is nothing else left to say, then: consider booking a table for yourself here to see what I mean.
    2. You get to experience traditional Austrian foods at acceptable prices and high quality: I definitely recommend you to try the “Backhendl” (in translation “Fried breaded chicken”) served with salads. This is a traditional Styrian dish, that is easy to prepare and quite fast to devour. Along with this particular Styrian dish, there are also other traditional dishes that you can try. The waiters are also very friendly, and they will guide you depending on your wishes.
    3. You have the chance to buy the most traditional Styrian salads dressings, wines and other specific Styrian and Austrian dishes at the “Der Steirer” Shop, located next to the restaurant in the same building space. Both an original and practical idea: I could recommend you here as gifts and as best buys: the “Pumpkin Seeds Oil” (delicious for salads), the “Pumpkin Seeds” (delicious for salads and for oats in the morning),  the “Preiselbeeren Kompott (or Marmelade)” (i.e. “Cranberries Compote”) (delicious with the traditional “Wiener Schnitzel”).

That is about it, just make sure to reserve a table in time for the “Der Steirer” Restaurant via https://www.der-steirer.at/en/, they are quite busy almost all the time. I would say at least 5 days in advance for a small table for 2 persons, and at least 10 days in advance for a bigger group of 4 or up to 10-12 persons. Below some great shots from our last visit at “Der Steirer”, magnificent experience as always!

Very original interior decor! The restaurants is full of such original ideas!

“Backhendl” is a specialty of the “Der Steirer” restaurant!

A closer look at the “Backhendl”!

Have a great weekend and sincerely yours,
Madalina
